5 Interior Design Trends for 2022

5 Interior Design Trends for 2022

Home decor trends are always changing. With every new year comes an exciting rush of predictions about what’s trending in the home space.

Much like the evolution of fashion in recent years, interiors are increasingly becoming less about what’s trendy and more about personal expression. And while it’s always recommended to invest in pieces that can withstand changing trends (the best option for the environment), here are a few interior design trends that we think are here to stay.

Design for Comfort and Wellness

2022 is all about prioritizing ease, health and wellness in our designed spaces. A big drive for this, of course, comes from another pandemic year where we’re all needing to think about personal health.

For many working from home, there has been a need for separate spaces for work and for relaxing. There has also been a rise in searches for safe, sustainable materials. From chemical-free, eco-friendly furniture to low-VOC paint.

Natural Materials

One of the overall themes in the home decor trends for 2022 is nature. Furniture and decor in natural materials is an easy way to create a natural look in your home.

Lots of Green

Now that people have embraced staying home, they realize they can’t spend 24/7 outside. The simplest fix for this is by using more shades of green in home decor. From jungle-inspired hues to olive to emerald, expect to see this color everywhere.

Biophilic Design

Speaking of soothing greens, there has also been growing interest in nature-based or biophilic designs (the practice of connecting people and nature within our built environments).

We’re bringing the outdoors in with potted trees, serious homegrown plant propagation, natural materials like wood and stone, and plant imagery all over. So whether the goal is to bring nature inside or to simply freshen the home with natural hues, live plants are becoming even more popular.

Organic and Round Shapes

The love for nature in our homes doesn’t just end with colors and plants. Expect to see more organic and rounded home decor and furniture this year. Sofas with rounded edges, organic prints on decor, and round and organic home decor pieces all give your home a soft and natural look.
